With a 2007-2008 enrollment of nearly 70,000 students at 67 campuses, Fort Bend ISD is the seventh-largest school district of the more than 1,200 public school districts in Texas. Families from around the world move to Fort Bend, drawn by the district’s reputation and its focus on student achievement and development. Students benefit from diverse and challenging academic and extracurricular activities.
One of the district’s greatest strengths lies in its multi-cultural diversity. Students in FBISD schools represent more than 25 different countries. America’s Promise Alliance recently named Sugar Land in conjunction with Fort Bend ISD as one of the “100 Best Communities in the Nation for Young People.” The winning communities are recognized for efforts to help young people succeed.
To address a variety of vocational interests as well as special learning needs, the district also includes the Technical Education Center, the M. R. Wood Alternative Learning Center and the Progressive High School.
